Life Kidnapped Me: Photo Recapture

I thought after we moved things would slow down. God had other plans though, the pace definitely increased. Here's a peak into what's been happening lately.

A Mother's Day weekend trip up North to the hometown. The Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener also took place that weekend in the town so there was a live band and food Friday night.

We followed it up with a girls night at my friends house including; wine, Papa Murphy's pizza and gelato. For breakfast it was fresh fruit and coffee. She is seriously such a wonderful hostess.

Later we made sure to take advantage of Starbucks Frappucino Happy Hour. We followed it up by sitting on her adorable patio.

Of course ample time was spent by the lake

Had balsamic vinaigrette on pears which is highly encouraged! This meal included a spinach salad, salmon burger grilled and sweet potato fries. Summer foods are the best.

Sunday I made the best concoction of oatmeal including frozen hand picked blueberries, frozen cool whip, granola and peanut butter. Parents truly have the best food.

After demolishing the breakfast we were up and off to my brothers place which is half way between Minneapolis and my parents place. We celebrated Mother's day with both of us kids, my parents, brother and his girlfriend. It was the first time I've celebrated with my mom in 7 years since moving away.

As much as I loved having a girls weekend, I was pretty pumped to see my boys!

During the week I had lunch at a local cafe called Turtle Bread Company. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine while eating our salads and entrees. I ordered the Open face chicken sandwich (I did remove some of the cheese cause there was a ton!) with sweet potato fries. The sandwich and salad were phenomenal!

Another day, was lunch out including an egg salad sandwich and carrot-raisin salad. It was the first time I've had carrot-raisin salad and it was delicious.

Believe it or not I've still maintained to workout.

Something exciting happened; Axel got his first piece of mail! We ordered something for him and it was addressed to him. How cute.

I'll recap our most recent weekend in another post as this is turning into a lengthy piece.

How was your week(end)?

Ever had balsamic on fruit? If so what fruit? I'm curious to learn new ways.

  1. Starbucks happy hour is so great! We went like 7 out of the 10 days, haha! Looks like life is treating you well right now, girl!
