I slept in a little bit later than normal today. Sleep is a vital ingredient to exercise as our body builds up and repairs the muscle we work hard for at night. A very important hormone called Growth Hormone is released through the night and this hormone is responsible for many functions such as; increasing bone density and muscle mass, decreasing body fat and increasing exercise capacity. So today since I didn't have to set an alarm I let my body complete it's work. It was a treat!
I followed it by some pseudo-baked Banana Oatmeal. The plan was to make the real-deal (baked oatmeal) again since they were so good but by the time I was ready to start mixing I was ravenous. They were delicious still and a nice, easy, get started with the day right away kind of breakfast. It was satisfying to a 'T' due to the high protein and some good fat from the egg whites and peanut butter! I will share it after it's perfected.
Match that with some coffee and Natural Bliss creamer. It's a date.
Ever since reading an article at Oh She Glows about Carrageenan and how it is in many foods. I've been sure to eliminate it and feel much better. This creamer is one of the few that doesn't contain the ingredient. Only 3 ingredients; non- fat milk, heavy cream and sugar.
Without food, there would be no fitness thus next up on the agenda is a solid LiveFit Week 7-Day 4 & 5 (a mix of the two that I missed-not all exercises) workout! Last night I listened to my body and took it easier than normal and got a good night's sleep which is exactly what I needed to regain strength!
Does anyone else find they have to take a rest day or go easier for a day toward the end of the week? What do you do to maintain strength throughout the week?
What are your plans for the weekend?!
Have a good Friday friends!

Looking forward to the oatmeal recipe once it's perfected! It sure looks yummy!
